New Board for Visual Connections - Europoles' Wagener joins, John Wall President

Mimaki sees strong growth in UV LED and Automation

Mimaki's European operation has issued an end-of-year summary in which strong growth in UV printers and an increasing interest in production automation is predicted. General Manager of Sales, Arjen Evertse, acknowledges the challenges the pandemic has and is bringing, but adds that this has accelerated the need for localised production. He also welcomes the return of in-person trade events such as FESPA.

ASGA warning over sustainable business practices

The Australian Sign & Graphics Association says sign companies need to consider their energy supply, source of materials, water consumption and waste disposal in the face of mounting pressure over the environmental impact of business practices. ASGA has also launched an anonymous survey to better understand “where the sign industry is at” regarding recycling.

3M Belgium Production Facility Compelled to Shut Down After Alarming Levels of PFAS Found in Citizens

Per- and poly-fluoroalkyls (PFAS) are a class of harmful chemicals commonly found in products that reduce heat, stains, grease and water. They are common in many household products, such as carpets and non-stick cookware. PFAS  do not naturally degrade, they are ingested by humans and animals, and accumulate in the body. A small amount of daily exposure can lead to high concentrations over time.

FESPA's global re-start of shows - CEO update

Globally the direct exhibitor and visitor spend is reported (2019 data) at around USD$135 billion (source: UFI). However the flow-on business generated is valued at another USD$325 billion. HP up 12% to $63.5bn despite slump in printing hardware sales

HP Inc. has announced fiscal 2021 total net revenue of $63.5 billion, up 12.1% from the prior-year period. In the fourth quarter, its printing business revenue rose by 1% year over year, as printing hardware sales fell by 26%.
