Vaccination campaigns top OMA’s ‘Best of Outdoor’

The Outdoor Media Association’s (OMA) Best of Outdoor selection for October includes two campaigns urging Australians to get vaccinated. A new initiative that adds to billboards a nameplate with the country name of the traditional owners of the land was also selected.

Carbon8 wins four golds at 38th National Print Awards

Carbon8 from Marrickville in Sydney’s Inner West was the night’s biggest NPA winner - with four Golds and a Bronze - followed by Styleprint from Kilsyth South in Melbourne’s east - with three Golds and two Bronze - at Friday’s nationwide presentations of this year’s state PICAs and 38th National Print Awards. Printer of the Year – Large Format went to Cactus Imaging for its Sandstones Building Wrap. Cactus founder Keith Ferrel also received the Media Super Lifetime Achievement Award.

Konica Minolta lowers sales forecast after factory explosion

Konica Minolta posted a 15% increase in revenue for the six months to 30 Sept 2021 but said an explosion at its toner plant in Tatsuno in August was expected to affect sales of new equipment. “Toner will be supplied on a priority basis to existing customers,” it said.

Epson reports significant growth in commercial, industrial printing

Despite supply problems because of component shortages and logistics disruptions, Epson recorded ¥268.4 billion ($A3.12bn) in total Q2 revenue, with profit up ¥15.1 billion ($A175m) to ¥25.4 billion ($A296m). Commercial and Industrial printing revenue and profit showed “significant growth.”

Epson switches all Japanese sites to 100% renewable electricity

Seiko Epson Corporation has become the first company in the Japanese manufacturing industry to convert to 100% renewable electricity for all of its domestic sites - reducing its annual carbon dioxide emissions by about 250,000 tonnes. The company plans to invest 100 billion yen on decarbonization and environmental technology over the next 10 years.
