Banks to defer loan repayments for businesses hit by lockdowns

The Australian Banking Association says banks will defer loan repayments for up to three months for small businesses affected by lockdowns throughout Australia. "This will help many struggling small businesses stay afloat in these challenging times." says the Small Business Ombudsman.

Multi-Color Corp is itself acquired following Hexagon buy

On the labels and packaging side, last week we reported on the proposed sale of Hexagon Group (Hally Labels, Rapid Labels, Adhesif & Kiwi Labels), to US trans-national Multi-Color Corp (MCC). Now, MCC itself is to be sold, from private equity-to- private equity and will be merged into US packaging concern, Fort Dearborn. CD&R is the PE firm making the acquisition of both MCC and Fort Dearborn. This will create a global label and packaging conglomerate to rival the giant CCL.

Big changes in ANZ Label sector - MCC to buy Hexagon

Cincinnati, Ohio-headquartered global label giant Multi-Color Corp (MCC), is planning to acquire 100% of Hexagon Group from Mercury Capital, subject to FIRB approvals. MCC already operates several sites in Australia, having acquired businesses such as Collotype, Pemara and most recently Herrods in Melbourne. Adding Hexagon brands such as Hally's, Adhesif, Rapid and Kiwi will add around $190 million to annualised sales.
