Kyocera Q1 sales & profit down on decreased demand

Kyocera said a decline in demand and increased costs saw sales revenue for the first quarter decrease by 2.5% to 479,420 million yen, which “more than off-set a positive impact from the weaker yen.” Operating profit was down 38%.

Canon warns of Wi-Fi security risk when discarding printers

WOO survey tips out of home to pass USD$40 billion for the first time in '23-24

The World Out of Home Organization has expanded its Global Out of Home Media Spend Index to include first party data from 81 territories, accounting for 95% of the world's GDP. Global Market Index sources data from WOO's 200 members and others to give the most accurate view of OOH revenue and market share. An estimated 37% of the spend is from digital.

Mutoh releases larger size industrial object printer - the XpertJet 1462UF (+video)

MUTOH Industries Ltd.,  has announced the official release of the XpertJet 1462UF, first previewed at FESPA Munich in May. It is a flatbed DtO (Direst-to-object) UV-LED printer with a table size of 1,420 mm (55.9”) x 700 mm (27.5”), which combines high productivity and high image quality to meet diverse DtO needs (at FESPA, the pilot version was printing sunglasses). This now gives Mutoh UV DtO printers in A3, A2 and A1+ formats.

Epson Q1 revenue up as profit falls

Epson reported revenue for the first quarter was ¥314.8 billion ($A3.35 billion), an increase of 5.7% year-on-year, while overall business profits were down 31% year-on-year. "Revenue in the commercial and industrial printing business sharply increased."

Canon reports Q2 sales & income increases

Canon’s second quarter net income increased by 10.8% year-on-year to ¥65.4 billion ($A700 million), as net sales increased by 2.2% to ¥1,020.9 billion ($A10.8bn). Printing Business Unit sales were up by 0.8% compared with the same period of the previous year.
