Australian textile and fabric digital print specialists, Coritex, have recently seized the opportunity to represent Portuguese company Digidelta across Oceania, for distribution of Digidelta’s ‘world-first’ biodegradable film range - BIOND.

First seen at FESPA in Berlin, BIOND products have been developed with up to 97% biomass materials (bio-based, aka plants), enabling the produced film to actually absorb CO2, making it fully bio-degradable after use - even able to decompose in less than 90 days under the right conditions - and ensuring carbon capture when sent to landfill.
The advanced sustainability nature of the BIOND products is clearly in stark contrast to the carbon-heavy production of traditional PVC films and the associated dangers of chlorine leeching into the environment, on disposal. BIOND also offers a significantly reduced carbon footprint to the widely used PVC-Free and PVC Self-Adhesive Vinyls (SAV), whilst offering the same usability benefits and conformability without compromising print quality. With no plasticisers used, BIOND films have the benefit of not shrinking or changing shape, offering advantages that even conventional SAVs cannot.
Armando Mota, CEO of Digidelta, says: "The launch of the BIOND brand reflects our vision of transforming the future of digital printing globally, through the development of truly sustainable and innovative solutions. Sustainability is not just a choice, but an imperative necessity for the global market, and with the BIOND range, we believe we can redefine the standards of quality and environmental responsibility.”
100% EU certified biodegradable and eliminating the risk of emission of any volatile organic compounds, BIOND films are also fully compatible with UV LED digital printing technologies, UV Gel, Latex, solvent and Eco-Solvent, as well as flexographic and offset mechanical printing, readily adapting to the most demanding market needs.
Daniel Watts, Managing Director of Coritex comments, “What is quite remarkable about BIOND films is their performance. Functional properties measurable to a CAST SAV, with a much more approachable price point, similar to a promotional SAV, BIOND will gain acceptance very quickly, of course with the incredible benefit of being bio based.”
“It was clear from our first conversation with Digidelta that our philosophies align, so we are thrilled to be partnering with Digidelta in order to bring BIOND to Oceania.”
Mota adds, “It was an easy decision to partner with Coritex. Their philosophy and belief in making such positive change and their approach to being trusted partners of their clients resonated strongly with our ethos at Digidelta.”
