Supported by Velflex and Siser, Mimaki has recently held customer events in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney, showcasing its Direct-To-Film technology, including a sneak peek of the company’s first UV-curable Direct-to-Film (UV-DTF) printer, the Mimaki UJV300DTF-75.

Mimaki UJV300DTF 75Customers recently enjoyed a sneak peek of Mimaki’s new UV-curable Direct-to-Film (UV-DTF) printer, the Mimaki UJV300DTF-75, scheduled to be available in Australia shortly

Velflex Managing Director, Ben Carroll, adds: “We know DTF is the big corner piece for garment decoration now, but with everybody doing it, people are looking at how they can stand out.”

“At these events, we’ve demonstrated real-life applications and shown attendees just how easy it is to produce a variety of different transfers in-house”

“We’ve also showcased UV DTF, showing how smaller ‘mum and dad’ print shops can now create custom, one-off items in-house, that will still be cost effective even in small quantities, with the new Mimaki UJV300DTF-75, which Mimaki plans to make available for purchase in the coming weeks.”

UV-DTF is a decoration method in which a design printed on a special film is transferred to the target material, to ‘decorate’ the surface of materials even if they have uneven or curved surfaces, which is difficult with conventional UV printing.

Because UV-DTF film consists of two parts: a glued film and a transfer sheet, it eliminates the need for manual weeding (removal of margins) and allows confirmation of printed content before transfer, which significantly improves production efficiency and waste rates

Kobayashi continues: “Attending the Mimaki Open Days presented a fantastic opportunity for our customers to get hands-on with our latest DTF technology - including the TxF300-75 and TxF150-75, as well as the new UJV300DTF-75 - to see how they perform across a range of materials,”

“It’s not just about showcasing the printers: the events opened up a collaborative space where our team were on hand to answer questions, share production tips, and help businesses identify the right solution for their needs.”

The DTF Open Days also aligned with the launch of Mimaki’s limited-time Trade Up Campaign: an initiative designed specifically for users of existing DTF, Direct-to-Garment (DTG), or sublimation printers who are ready to ‘level up’. Between August and September, Mimaki customers can unlock substantial savings on select Mimaki models, including the TxF300-75, TxF150-75, and TS100-1600.
