Having previously secured Pinnacle and Red Dot awards, the Epson SureColor printer series is back on the podium, scooping more industry honours at the 2025 iF Design Awards. The SureColor S9100 eco-solvent and F9500/9500H dye sublimation wide format printers were both recognised for iF Design awards, along with the 64” SureColor P20500 series, which services the professional photography, graphic and fine art markets.

50 years Epson brandDelivered by the International Forum (iF) Design GmbH, headquartered in Germany, the iF Design Awards enjoy global recognition as one of the most prestigious industrial design competitions, honouring products that meet design criteria related to practicality, craftsmanship, innovation, environmental consideration, functionality, usability, safety, aesthetics and universal design. This year, a jury of 131 experts selected the best designs from nearly 11,000 entries from 66 countries and regions.

According to the iF Design judging panel, it is the large, table-like design of the Epson SureColor F9500/9500H and S9100 wide format printers that played a large part in securing them a design award. The design helps the user achieve ‘wellness work’ i.e. comfortable and safe printing sites, ‘reducing the worker’s mental and physical burden through features such as a low-profile design that does not block the field of vision, a lifter that aids in setting heavy media, and a large opening that facilitates maintenance’.

Similarly, for the SureColor P20500 series, the judges singled out the printers’ flat top, which can also be used as a workspace for improved space efficiency. Equipped with high capacity 1.6L ink packs, the productivity of this printer was also a key factor in determining the award, citing its ability to improve print shop efficiency and productivity while using up to 90% less plastic than cartridge and cutting back on the need for the operator to replace ink, thereby delivering significant environmental benefits.

Other Epson products to receive iF Design Awards were, again with productivity and environmental benefits to the fore, were the Epson WorkForce Enterprise AM-C550/400 Business Inkjet Printer, the EH-QL3000B/W, EH-QL7000B/W Premium Home Projectors and Epson’s Auto Color Chart Reading Portable Table: an automatic colorimetric portable table that can be carried in a bag and allows for simple colour matching for large printers.
