Midst all the hustle and bustle of Labelexpo Europe 2025 comes an announcement from the event owners/organisers that the Labelexpo brand - which was itself launched in 1980 following the then Labelex ‘80 in London - will now be re-branded as LOUPE to better reflect an expansion of its remit to accommodate Labels and Outer-Packaging Embellishment.

The first show under the new branding will be LOUPE Americas, to be held in Chicago in September 2026, with a plan to embrace a broader scope of exhibitors including labels, flexible packaging and folding carton.
The company said in a statement that: ‘this change aligns the show with the evolution of the industry, most notably the convergence of the package printing industry around a set of core technologies - digital, digital hybrid, and in-line production - driven by automation, cloud connectivity, and sustainability’.
It also pointed to ‘the rapid consolidation and transformation of the industry, creating one-stop package printing operations that encompass the full range of packaging formats, with diversification into flexible packaging and new opportunities in folding cartons’.
Where Labelex ‘80 saw 44 label industry suppliers come together, Labelexpo Europe 2025 in Barcelona has welcomed over 650 exhibitors alone and over the last two years, the combined Labelexpo portfolio of events welcomed more than 125,755 visitors and occupied 140,919sqm of exhibition space.
Jade Grace, Managing Director of Labelexpo Global Series, says: “Data from Labelexpo Europe 2023 showed 40% of show visitors registered an interest in flexible packaging and 25% in folding cartons and we know that over 25% of exhibitors at Labelexpo Europe 2025 have portfolios that reach across labels, flexible packaging and folding carton sectors.”
