ASGA updates advice on ACM Signage Flammability legislation

ASGA Risk & Compliance consultant Glenn Hain has issued an update on new legislation regarding ACM flammability issues and signage – “a brief summary of where I believe we are at with this,” Hain said.  The document is a follow up to meetings of ASGA members held around the country last year, and comes after Hain’s recent discussions with the Australian Building Codes Board and the Australian Standards Board.

The new Worldwide Quarterly Industrial Printer Tracker from International Data Corporation’s (IDC) highlights the impact of COVID-19 on Large Format Printer and Industrial Print Markets, showing global industrial printer and large format printer shipments declined sharply in Q1 2020, with the Asia-Pacific region the worst hit. But as markets recover, IDC forecasts improved supply chains and new signage and graphics applications.

Australian printed paper & cardboard waste cleared for export

Printed paper waste has been excluded from the COAG Waste Export Ban until 2024 after a campaign led by printing industry group The Real Media Collective (TRMC). “Our lobbying was a success,” said TRMC CEO Kellie Northwood. Without the change, printers could have been forced to pay for printed waste to be sent to landfill rather than selling it off-shore.
