Following the recent release of the new Generation 5 large format flatbed Kudu printer model from swissQprint, which now delivers a top speed of 341sq.m/hr, an enhancement package that includes software, firmware and hardware upgrades will enable early adopters of the older Kudu models to drive up to 12% more productivity out of their machines.
The new Generation 5 Kudu high-end flatbed printer from swissQprint combines high output and print quality on board and roll media
Distributed in Australia by Pozitive Sign and Graphics Solutions, MD Phil Trumble says: “We have already upgraded most of the Kudu units in the field. The software upgrade is provided free through swissQprint, but there are some nominal costs associated with related firmware upgrades, depending on the age and condition of each unit.”
The 3.2×2m Kudu incorporates up to 10 colour channels and is energy efficient, consuming an average of 2.2 kilowatt-hours of electricity, the same as the average electric kettle. It is also certified to ISO standard 20690. Already recognised for its ability to combine huge output with top quality print production, the upgrade package is set to further improve the productivity and efficiency of the original machines.
Pozitive MD Phil Trumble “This has been such a reliable piece of kit for our customers and the fact that swissQprint provides their software upgrades free is a strong testament to how much they value the relationships with the end user.”
To accommodate the additional speed, Trumble confirms that some firmware upgrades will also be required on older models, which Pozitive will work with existing customers on, adding: “For example, in some cases we will need to look at optimisation of the carriage movement to help the machine cope with the increased speed.”
“But the end game is the same: a potential 12 percent boost in speed for all our Kudu customers, enabling them to turn work around faster without compromising quality.”
