Organisers claim that the launch edition of FuturePrint Industrial Print - 21st & 22nd January 2026 at the Kohlebunker, Motorworld in Munich – has been deliberately designed ‘as an antidote to the traditional, expensive, exhausting and unwieldly trade show’. The new ‘smarter, leaner’ event aims to highlight how industrial inkjet and digital deposition are enabling flexibility, agility, and efficiency not possible with analogue-only approaches.

The original Kohlebunker (coal bunker), which served as a coal warehouse for the German Federal Railways until 1995, was transformed into a modern event location in April 2016, but maintains its ‘post-war ruin’ feel through a combination of stone walls and modern glass construction which complement the charm of the entire historic Motorworld ensemble at the Munich location.

This contrast is in-keeping with an event that carries the strapline, ‘Industrial Print Technology for Advanced Manufacturing’, and which aims to showcase how print technology is unlocking new possibilities across multiple sectors and to show how print has become central to modern production.

Tailored for professionals from the automotive and aviation sectors, through to consumer electronics, packaging, décor (including users of 3D printing) and direct-to-shape and security printing, the conference has attracted an impressive line-up of international speakers, including leading innovators, analysts, and manufacturers sharing case studies and real-world applications that underline the relevance of digital deposition today.

Frazer Chesterman, Co-Founder, FuturePrint, says: “Industrial digital print technology is no longer about its future potential – it’s about what is possible right now. This event gives manufacturers a clear window into technologies that enable faster, leaner, and more profitable production.”

Chesterman claims the event is differentiated from competitive events by maintaining a direct focus on industrial print, with only 50 ‘curated’ exhibitors - covering the full industrial print value chain – and ‘a compact, accessible format, with focused content, that facilitates high-value networking’.
